With the Gold price rallying strongly over the past few weeks - USD981 (Today) AUD1,538 (Today), and I was a shareholder of BHP, I would like to know eitherway why BHP haven't made any comments in recent days/weeks about OZL or Prom. Hill. They are next to each other and the mine is expected to be profitable off the bat...

Why would BHP sit back and let China take the asset without even a mention.....

Therefore, I think BHP is probably even now scrambling to crunch numbers to see what they'll do. Surely they can't let an opportunity like this go away.

Maybe (Another conspiracy) BHP were hoping OZL to fall into Admin and BHP could then negotiate with the Banking Syndicate to pick and choose what they want....

Whatever happens, I think the BHP shareholders are missign out here also, although only in a small way compared to the overall BHP business...

I'm not aware if BHP has made a comment after the recent China announcement - other than the usual "we don't comment on speculation", so if they have please accept my apology......
