are we about to see panic?, page-3

honestly if you did a pros and cons on the health of the world economy the pros would be about half a page and the cons would take up a whole pad. so im a bit confused about how well our market has held up and rallied sometimes given our fate is completely entwined with the others.

my personal belief is that there is a disconnect for us at the present time because our reality is so much different to other countries. for example, we don't have unemployment at 7 or 8%, our government & reserve bank are not saying we will go into recession, house prices have fallen but not dramatically and our reporting season has not been as bad as it potentially could have been. also little things like if went to a good restaurant tonight it will most likely be almost full.

i don't think we will see any panic here until we actually see and feel the full effects of a recession. elsewhere across the world there is great panic and deservedly so because those in the know are aware we have one decent downward leg left.
