Agree....think it was profit taking....and some short positioning based on a double top in gold at resistance 987-988 .....
Exited gold future long....but gave me a chance to top up NCM and a couple of others.
With all the bad news out there.... gold remains a key safe haven....might drop back to 966 ... or even 950 .... but technically gold would remain in its uptrend.
Cannot see much profit taking in Gold given the economic data....when the US announce what they are going to do with creation of a "bad bank" then we might be in trouble.
