I think it is winning work that is their biggest issue. Engineering marketing is driven by relationships and it is way easier for their competitors executives who are already in Africa to have relationships with senior customer executives. If they win a tender for a study they can do it from other offices and if they win a project in Africa they can hire locals but the relationships required to win the work are the problem. The situation is not hopeless they can still tender and do work but this situation puts them at a disadvantage and they will not win the same share of work as they used to until travel opens up.
