Let a "chip" or robot try to work out and calculate driving in rural/bush australia conditions at night in the rain etc etc. not likely.
On a "good road" system like cities or Europe ......ok.
But human instinct, judgement and ability too take "risk/chances" plays an important part in the aforementioned "bush" driving.
BRAINCHIP is great and I am a 150% believer but there are "limits" for now on how far we should take this Autonomous Car part to right now and Autonomous braking would IMHO be very dangerous and unworkable for many Rural/bush people. City people would not understand this probably.
Anyone living, working in the bush, mine sites, farms would not even be able to use such a vehicle in many of their "extreme" driving situations. Man would it be fun to see an Autonomous controlled vehicle try driving in 4x4 on a minesite/farm/dirt road in heavy wet muddy conditions .
