Power

Congrats to holders for the recent success here. Im starting a new thread in hope of genuine discussion and opinion around the infrastructure required to eventually take this through to production. In particualr I'd like to know more about what options exist for power should the proposed Donlin Pipeline fail to materialise and what the operational / financial implications are of alternaitves.

I am pretty confident roads infrastructure will not be an issue. The Donlin pipeline however has hairs on it. Costs have been estimated at over $3 billion US and the entire Donlin Gold project itself the subject of a short sellers report this year basically claiming it will never get built. From what I understand the project has been around for well over a decade and although the enitire short report has been refuted and is the subject of legal action itself it does highlight the pretty substantial project risk no matter how you look at it.

Fort Knox is fortunate in that there is a power line extending from the Golden Valley Electric Association (GVEA) substation at Gold Hill to the Fort Knox site, a distance of approximately 47 km. The same substation is over 400km form Mount Estelle.

If this has been covered before please point me to the conversation and ignore the thread. Before anyone gets shirty I'm not downramping, I am a holder who has been enjoying the rise from nice little spec position in my portfoilio to a "gee, thats a nice chunk of change' sized position in my portfolio and I am hoping for an experienced mining guy or two to convince me there's a feasible altenrnative to Donlin and that there is a strong probability that given the location these reserves can be mined and mined economically.
