Purchasing the debt is an entirely different strategy in these situations.
For reference that is what GXY did when they bought the secured debt from Tribeca in an attempt to control the process when A40 was going under.
If they wanted to make a script offer to AJM holders then they would not have taken the path that has been reported in the media.
