s8,
"many of us have contributed to the situation by our own behaviours and projections."
I don't know about that 'many" part, but, yes, some would have.
I am talking mainly of the many who went on in their daily life working for a living, striving and working hard to save for a better future for themselves and their children, and then one day they lost their jobs and that is when their nightmare begins. At a time of mass unemployment which we read is about to happen, these ordinary folks have no hope of quickly finding another meaningful job. They are being put in such a situation through no faults of their own. Yes, they have the right to be in a rage, especially when they read, hear about executives in failed companies continuing to receive their high pay and in some instances that we have read of, big bonuses.
It is in a time like this that governments have a constructive and active role to play, to try to minimize the sufferings and pains.
