13% down in 2 weeks. 100% up in 6 months. 200% up in other timeframes. Its also flat over a period aswell if you cherry pick the right dates. Down. Up. Down. Up. It will do that. 2 weeks is a very short timeframe you have identified for a long term holder.
Picking a timeframe of 2 weeks during a global pandemic before a major election that we all knew was most likely going to negatively effect the market and concentrating on a declining SP is a genius way to be judging the performance of your long term investments. Seems foolish to me.
Not sure who you think is pretending everything is currently fine with the world however I dont think anyone has been blindsided by it. Corona has been with us for about 8 months and 2nd, 3rd waves and stimulus are and are going to be a thing for a while. Election was always going to happen. Tip..im not 100% certain but the election might happen in exactly 4 years time again. So you can include that in your long term strategy now.
So in the current conditions you mention what do you want management to do extra so you can give them a pat? They can not speed up a trial. Its a set timeframe. As is software development withcthe likes of Visa and MC etc. The conditions you have suggested are ultimately out of managements control. Obviously they are working behind the scenes at a pace that current conditions allow. Some things may even be on short term hold or slowed right down due to conditions. But that still would mean they are progressing to the conditions would it not.
Your long term holding views do not seem to align with your short term SP concerns of the last 2 weeks.
