While both companies have diversified commodity. FFX/MLL currently has diversified geography. Mining of one can occur without the other. AVZ seems to need both to be semi economical to get off the ground right now IMO. It also open MLL up for sale of one investment thesis, providing capital to de-risk the other. I'm not there yet, but I am opening my opinion up seeing the sale of Goulamina being a good thing. Though to be honest, by the time that the lithium market picks up enough for the sale to be worth it, FFX should already have enough cashflow to perhaps justify the build anyway. See what happens, won't let perfect get in the way of good.
