What’s Afterpay or ZIP’s future cash flows? For most growth companies it’s BS, nobody has any idea.
Extrapolate current growth & conditions then apply a small risk opportunity discount, sounds reasonable, what could possibly change in such a static environment.
Companies that can be valued are generally discounted to reflect economy realities but in uncertain times people gamble & blue sky stocks that can’t be held back by traditional fundamentals turn into punts & momentum gets the weight of money.
