We have Multi-lateral Security Alliances, Not Multi-lateral Trade Alliances.
Many of our Security Allies including the US, have been running chronic Trade deficits.
So they are NOT going to send Warships to threaten China, to ensure we retain our Huge Trade Surpluses, whilst they suffer Huge Trade Deficits. These News articles are just hyping up "annual drills" with our security allies.
Further, there are NO such provisions in the Security Alliance - ie. ensuring our Trade Surplus with China are maintained.
Any way, we are NOT their King. They don't owe us a living. They can choose to trade with whoever they want, just like we can trade with whoever we want.
