Briproz, why didn't you just transfer your Chess holdings to another broker??? I am considering doing it because I am tired of eTrade having a melt-down every time everyone starts selling and I don't think their announcements are up to date, so I am looking at a move.
To tell us that your online broker forced you to sell all your stock sounds outrageous - or am I missing something?
Anyway, I never thought there was a conspiracy involved, unless you call selling stock a conspiracy.
