Hi, Despite media hype to the contrary, I feel Australia still remains a country with a firm secular foundation. Religous groups have always been there in the background as pressure groups, and every now and then, there will be a push from one or other of these groups to push their agendas. But the vast majority of Australians who claim religous affiliation are delightfully lazy, and those that aren't, are fairly disparate. There appears unlikely to ever be a large enough committed coalition of religous believers to ever seriously challenge for power. There will occasionally be individuals, who by virtue of being in the right position at the right time,ie Harridine, Fielding, Nile produce some changes, but these tend to be transitory. "Football, Meat Pies ,Kangaroos and Holden Cars" , what a wonderful country!
