same views @flotsam222 but even if global warming doesn't force the change the pure economics will.
WBT ReRAM will :
1. be able to store significantly more data in the same footprint. so data centres can shrink .. or at least as the volume of data grows they won't need to grow in size. = building overhead / real estate footprint cost reduction
2. the cost of operaring the data centre will reduce. significant reduction in power to operate the hardware and also significant reduction in the other mahor operating cost being aircon!!!
these two things will make data centres utilising ReRAM memory significantly cheaper to run so if you believe in global warming or not who cares . . the pure economics of business will drive the migration.
it will happen . . just a question of when imo
