Hey brother, gut feel and logical belief tells me 51 changed the game plan.. Up till then the assaying technique was adequate and fit for purpose as reported constantly in the JORC.
Since then though, things have changed & there was a provision within the Jorc to notify all and sundry if something like coarse gold was reported in amounts large enough to warrant further explanation as to the assaying style used.. 61 metres will do that to you...
Whether there is a further need to employ different approaches will be seen going forward, but going back over old ground seems a costly exercise when the knowledge would surely have been there in the beginning as to what approach best be applied.. Just my thoughts anyway..
