I think it is great that Xi and the CCP run China have shown their hand.

While this heavy hand works within the walls of a dictatorship, it is viewed by outside countries and citizens very differently.

If I am an exporter to China, I know I cannot trust any agreement or treaty with China.

If I have a supply chain in China if I am smart I already have a plan B to manufacture outside of China. No sane expat wants to get posted to China now. Any sane expat there is already trying to get their families out.

These sorts of diplomacy that China is showing will damage Australia exports short term, but more importantly it has changed how the world views China and it's motives, and will only damage China's trade long term.
