Imo, paying $280m of that precious cash out when your short of current assets - a moronic thing to do ... IF you're trying to secure the long term security of the company.
However, if you've essentially given up on that and are just trying to extract whatever value you can before the thing collapses - not such a silly move.
Imo the big players have taken this as a signal to dump.
