I do not believe that the gaps will be filled this time.
Its not straight forward trading when dealing with a takeover target.
We need to remind ourselves that behind the scenes there are legal teams and analysts going over AMP books right now. Each and every day is costing tens of thousands of dollars (if not more) and other players are working out how to get control of AMP Capital and AMP Bank, plus the juicy cash in bank of $Billions and the various investments AMP have under their belt worth approx $1B. A smash and grab that will grow another business by around $220B in FUM if taking over Capital and Bank. This spells massive opportunity not seen many times on the ASX..
There may be a couple of bidders lining up.. so trading this right now and exiting positions takes big bananas
