I remember a similar thing happening in Japan a few years back when a guy went to sell 1 share for about 20,000 yen and he got it backwards and made the trade 20,000 shares at 1 yen. (not exact figures, but the blunder cost his company tens, if not hundreds, of millions of dollars).
They did not reverse the trades on this case and there were stories on the news of small time investors becoming overnight millionaires.
The company that lost all the money made the guy responsible go on national TV and make a formal apology.
