re: Ann: Initial Resource of 35.9 Million Pou... Kakadu is probably a good reference for this issue. It has a working uranium mine contained within its boundaries, has legislation existing in the wings to change its boundaries to accomodate uranium mining (although never proclaimed), and is less than half the size of Selous. Of course with Selous being in Tanzania it is unchartered waters, but waters that certainly appear to run very strongly in favour of uranium mining.
Slug, don't believe licence has been applied for yet.
I don't neccesarily agree that mining has to be a long way off due to the nature of government in this country and their proactive view on uranium mining. So the Tanzanian govt risks the wrath of the World Heritage Committee (UNESCO)if it changes the Selous boundary (Nyoto is less than 7% of the entire Park). Iran have been giving the UN the finger for years!
