"those bodies you mentioned are all failures - they served a purpose but then will be or were disposed of."
They are/were the institutions that have held the world together over over the past century or so. It took major wars and incredible loss to stimulate the kind of thinking and strength of purpose required to act in unison to create those institutions. Yet, sitting behind a computer wearing woolly socks and drinking hot cocoa you call them failures. Step outside our mollycoddled existence and try to understand the global meltdown that precipitated those institutions and the hopes they embodied. Do you really think a no rules, law of the jungle international approach is best?
