I think that the arguement that it is worthless goes something like this:
It is a $4.8 billion project. That consists of $1.2 billion in equity from the shareholders, and $3.6 billion in debt. Key to the viability of the project is the traffic volume using the road. It has been widely reported that the projections for the traffic volumes are now seen as overly optomistic. For example, I've read that apparently they have budgeted on the road being as busy as the Sydney harbour bridge from the day it opens.
If the traffic volumes are not what was projected the Brisconnections may never be profitable given their massive debt.
