@Lapdog
Great post, sums it up very succinctly. At best we are being led by careerists who now see political roles as a path to a better paying corporate future. What they say and do as a politician is effectively an audition for their next job offer. The carnage they leave behind is ours to live with when they are long gone, lobbying in Washington or working for defence contractors and mining companies.
The increasing control of our body politic using whatever means is of great concern. Nobbling our vintage public broadcaster is what we would expect in a fledgling autocracy. But, it is waved away as nothing. Raiding journalists and charging whistleblowers. Using fear to control the public discourse whether that be bank economists, the media, individuals like Duncan Storer or releasing a Centrelink client's details to the media after criticising robodebt. They are trashing our public institutions as they bring them to heel. They must obey the dogma if they are to avoid the flak.
