Where AKIDA technology will take me in the next 5 years let alone 50 years is impossible to conceive.
In my early twenties the large government organisation I worked announced it was to receive funding to get its first computers. Out of the blue myself and two others were talent identified to be trained to use these computers and then train other staff. We went off and were trained however the government funding did not come through as expected. My chance to become a techie disappeared. Three years later the funding came through by which time I was considered too valuable in my then role to be released.
When I first became aware of BrainChip and spiking neural networks in 2016 I decided that this could be the exciting technology journey that I missed out on all those years ago.
Everyday the excitement grows about where this technology will lead. The benefits that it can bring in healthcare by reducing diagnostic costs for the proper treatment of the less wealthy are so exciting.
I was watching a documentary about treatment for Covid patients in some parts of India. Elderly citizens who would have been in intensive care here in Australia were dependent upon volunteers arriving on foot each morning at their tiny homes carrying bottles of oxygen in an attempt to keep them alive while they tried to survive the virus.
So much potential for AKIDA technology to do great things for humanity while at the same time taking scientists to the stars.
