I’m afraid Anil’s presentation made me think that Akida is still very much in the research and development stage. I can’t possibly see how it is ready for commercialisation. I hope to be proven wrong. Conceptually the chip sounds great but there was very little in the demonstration to prove its ready. Given Brainchip sponsored the event I give little credence to the flattering tweets. In my opinion the presentation was far from excellent. What I saw was Akida confusing objects. Not what you want to see when you are saying the chip can be used in self driving vehicles. I wish I could have seen Peter’s presentation, I suspect it would have been a lot better. Anyway, that’s where I am at now, feeling like the road to commercialisation is a lot longer than I previously thought. Of course this could all change with one positive announcement.
