Yes, but the Australian Government needs to think laterally on how jobs can be created, not rely on old worn out industries such as coal. The Aus economy depends too much on housing construction which in turn depends on population growth. That cannot go on forever. Advanced countries with stable populations all depend on manufacturing, so closing down an established industry is economically stupid, when there are alternatives of just changing direction in a positive way.
