Yes, they conveniently ignore the massive rise of house prices and stocks as inflation. Drilling into inflation figures you'll also find that its not a uniform trend. There is inflation in the basket of good and services consumed by the poor relative to the basket of goods and services used by those who are well-heeled. For example, utilities bills form a much larger part of a low wage worker's outlay and have been rising strongly for many years while the low inflation/deflation of luxury cars not so much a benefit for the working poor.
We are being fed crap because it is to 'their' advantage and not ours. if it were vice versa then they would simply just have to fix it. A necessary reform of some urgency I would suggest.
