because revenues don't equal profits. Ie, Costs might be spread roughly evenly over time, but there won't be much revenue growth in 1H (they keep referring to those lengthening sales cycles in the NH). so, 1H profits won't be flash, but they expect higher new revenues in 2H and hence higher profits in 2H.
the risk with all this is that those higher new revenues in 2H don't happen - due too COVID, for example, pushing sales out - and then we might well get a profit warning later in 2H.
