Of course
but tell me?
what average annual return would you get on your investments long term, and short term trading after tax snd brokerage ?
its as simple as that
im not smart enough to out perform the long term results with short term trading after tax and brokerage
if i was.....
i would.
are you?
my understanding is that most people aren’t .
but all power to those that are.
what i do know is this
about 6 years ago I swapped from value investing to growth/ quality stock investing, and through about 1mill invested in that time i’m $1,672,000 ahead in total of what I wouod have been had i just been in an asx top 50 or 200 index fund (including dividends). Most of that has come from not f#%|}g around trading in/out of stocks
when i retire I’ll rely on dividends (thise paying around 2-3% max to ensure capital gains still exist, by definition i sell anything paying iver 3% dividend as capital growth stalls) and the occasional 20% sell off of a stock
i will not be relying on profits from total in/out trades
thoughts?
