One thing I'm (fairly) sure about is that Gold Fields will not lose $50 million out of this deal, they are too powerful and influential on a global scale to suffer that. And their lawyers are raging bulls.

The other result, at the moment, has Nord not looking like getting 50.1% soon, unless they have had friends buying at $1.01 or more, and they come out with a left-field announcement, but that would be suspicious, indicating that they have been buying off friends for more than their best and final offer.

The lawyers must be sitting back and rubbing their hands together here, reading all this.

This is going to the courts (perhaps), not just to the toothless Takeovers Panel, who seem to just sit back and say "you guys sort it out, we're too busy with our fillet mignon and cabernet sauvignon 1987, an excellent year".

So even if Shandong win, Gold Fields will make their $50 million somehow, this is how companies and billionaires bend regulations and laws to make themselves rich, not (strictly) illegally, just through back room deals and subtle regulatory manipulations. I can see how Shandong can win, and Nord make a huge profit, and Gold Fields get their $50 million - there are deals between the three which could enable this to happen, and I don't think the regulators will care much. A couple of lawyers have told me as much tonight.

I gotta say though, this is the greatest show on earth. We are getting two for the price of one here, both the Nord v Shandong show (a heavyweight bout) and the Hot Copper Poster's show here (the lightweight preliminary bout).

Honestly, it's brilliant, you couldn't pay enough for this stuff, it's better than a Netflix soapie, and I'd definitely subscribe, it's truly wonderful stuff, and so much fun.

Oh mate, the Characters, the Comments, the Companies (CCC), the Tribunal, when are they all going to make the movie of this, and who does Brad Pitt play? I'd subscribe every day of the week, in fact, I don't want to go to bed, because I wanna see what happens tomorrow already.

This stuff is gold, ha ha ha .......
