SKUL. " But, to blow $21+ billion dollars on one-off cash handouts is a total waste of money, as it is unproductive.. As you stated it was how it was spent.. the money was not enough to buy a car or a house or anything of substance, that keeps people in jobs and that is where Rudd went wrong..
The bulk went or will go to the Casinos or will be saved.."
We are spending
One work colleage has bought a Hyundai getz with his package and I am going to Port Douglas for a holiday with my family. Another is renovating his home.
So anecdotally I can only say that in our work place staff are spending the money.
I do agree that major infrastructure spending would be better. But as mentioned when will that happen.
As a side note, my brother inlaw who has been in the stock exchange business for 30 years said at Christmas that TLS will be split in two by years end? I guess whatch this space is in order.
Cheers,
JR
