Another possibility here is that the dongles might be factory modified "specials"
ordered from the manufacturer by Atomos to enable them to interface
properly with Atomos devices. It would seem very much out of character
of AMS to try to make a few extra dollars from a simple dongle, when they have
gone to great lengths to keep the cost of their entry level products within reach
of the amateur/semi-professional video maker.
