government could bailout ozl, page-29

I find it interesting that so many of those who are firm supporters of free enterprise, competition and letting the market decide when times are good, suddenly demand government intervention when times go bad because of the excesses of the private system.

Kevin07; what a dork, handing out all our money to no-goods, dole bludgers, pensioners etc instead of handing it directly to people like OZL shareholders who took their chances with the free market and have suddenly realised it never goes up constantly.

Yes, I'm a holder. Fortunately I sold my major shareholding a couple of years ago, but only because I needed cash for another venture. I advised my daughters to stay invested, so I'm not suggesting I foresaw the current turn of events.

But I'm getting pretty tired of hearing the moans from those who were spectacularly over-invested in one share. I've been hanging around since redned first started spruiking these things at around 7 cents. It was a great call, and he attracted a lot of acolytes who fell in love with the mighty OX without really having a clue about it.

Some of those people are still here, quoting the millions of shares they own, bought at very low levels. Sorry, but if you didn't have the sense to cover your costs as they went up I have no sympathy. There is little point bitching now about the hopeless management etc. It gives you a warm feeling, but when you've never managed anything more involved than a household budget it doesn't ring very true.

How many people are prepared to admit they simply got it wrong? That they thought they could beat the market but they came out losing. Not many, I would think based on the posts here. It's much easier to look around for someone, anyone. to blame, especially amorphous entities like management and now that special of all win-win specials, the government!!

Grow up, people, it's a big cruel world out there. Do you want a free market, or do you want to be rescued when you stuff it up?
