O&G shares are a big growth area now with defensive and banks etc fully priced assuming COVID goes. Gas is up about 50% from the bottom and oil roughly up 100%. With demand hopefully improving and supply slow to react one analyst is suggesting POO could reach USD150. Bankruptcies in US shale continue and I would imaging banks are unwilling to lend to this sector. The wild card is OPEC+. They can open the floodgates which would be a bummer for POO. However I think they are smart enough to keep POO around USD 60 and keep shale on its knees. Most O&G shares are in buy territory according to analysts so I'd like to think CVN will be dragged along in their draft and get to around 40c-50c within a few months. Shorters may provide the spark to spike even higher particularly if Buffalo farmout is announced soon.
One thing that caught me by surprise was CVN keen to drill Pavo before APUS. I thought APUS was the preferred area as it's closer to Dorado and the 3D was encouraging. Anyone know why Pavo is preferred?
