Tomorrow's trading may be illuminating, but I'd say that next week's trading will be the key. As I posted several days ago, some of my indicators were suggesting that ssm was overbought. At the time, I thought that the div would put a steady and rising base on the sp, but it wasn't to be.
If the Dow is (finally) allowed to fall, ssm might initially fall victim to a significant fall; the victim of poor timing and possibly a changing of sentiment for the overall market. Ssm's sp has managed to avoid (for better and worse) being influenced by the broader market. The coming week should indicate with greater clarity where ssm stands. I still believe it will move up, but patience will be tested tomorrow.
At the very least though, things should be made clearer without the capper obscuring the situation.
