In September last year (10/09/2019) the WA government reported FIVE Lithium hydroxide plants in consideration in WA.
.... “There are five lithium hydroxide plants in consideration in WA, including Tianqi's Kwinana lithium hydroxide plant.” [ref]
-Tianqi’s plant in Kwinana was included.
-Albemarle’s Kemerton plant was already underway - receiving EPA approval in late 2018 [ref] but maybe that is included too?
- Covalent lithium was recently hiring to progress its’ WES/SQM joint venture do it was one of the five.
- Neometals is presumably still considering its’ Kalgoorlie plant but has rain checked due to costs... https://thewest.com.au/business/min...goorlie-lithium-refinery-study-ng-b881141214z
