The comment was exactly that, regarding Western Digital's requirements. I also recall that all of the comments ever made comparing 4DS ReRam to DRAM also came with the rider "when taking into account speed crippling error checking".

It has always been stated that DRAM speed is severely compromised by re-writing and error checking, neither of which is needed for 4DS. So whilst technically faster than DRAM, the fact is that it is only in net terms, and not in absolute speed that 4DS is faster.

Having said that, it comes down to semantics; that proof satisfied Western Digital, and they are the ones that count in this particular conversation.

It really does not matter, 4DS ReRam is aimed at a specific NEW market (SCM), and is not positioned to replace DRAM due to its cost. Methinks the storage market will be more than enough.
