IMO Dr C's main skill isn't anything to do with speaking.
It's understanding how a new drug, e.g. bisantrene, fits into each big pharma's existing and future drug "portfolio". That requires a different sales pitch for each possible partner/buyer.
And the nature of his success fee suggests that every last billion and fraction thereof will be squeezed out.
