I actually dont think Govt care how you spend it. They win either way.
i.e. you put your money in shares, you will eventually realise a capital gain, and they get a tax break.
if you win big, they wont pay you a pension ever.
If you piss it away, they will see you stimulate the economy.
Its the main reason why they gave access to super.
