At my local Melbourne WOW recently, I noticed what seems to be a new 'SKU' - WOW (home brand) yoghurt in one kilogram packs, above where Yoplait one kg containers were (although latter had three varieties available).

Given from February 2021 BGA should own Yoplait, is this continuing trend towards COL and WOW trying to get us to make the switch from branded products a threat or an opportunity for BGA?

I did not check the WOW own brand product closely, but it looked to be in identical packaging to Yoplait's branded product, so the thought crossed my mind that the latter's Morwell, Vic factory was also packaging the private label yoghurt. A good way to check this is to compare the 'best before' and 'production date' stamps to see if they are in the same typeface: if so, almost 100 per cent certain to be the same manufacturer.

The WOW product is being sold for $3.45 a tub. The Yoplait branded is $4.00, although until a couple of years ago WOW and COL sold it for (IIRC) around $5.50 but its retail price suddenly decreased and MTS' IGA larger format supermarkets now also have it for $4.
