Cheers @surfthemarketarket,
I agree with your thoughts, which is why I am glad we have Andrew K. on board advising the company, and across Australian legislation. Andrew has been lobbying govt. since early 2000's.
One of the concerns by investors that I have often read (SM) or heard (AGM's) is the perception that CGB has too many deals on the go. At first I was also concerned but as I looked further and talked with Andrew about global and local legislation I realised that diversity would potentially be the key to the company's success. People are welcome to agree/disagree with me on this, of course.
Legislation, IMO, is slowing down the march towards total community/commercial acceptance of Cannabis at the moment. Roadside Drug Tests, nationally, for levels of THC in the blood and the fear of criminal conviction, no matter if taken medically or recreationally, still have many fearful of the outcomes/stigma around taking Cannabis.
This is one of the main reasons, whether rightfully or wrongly, why I have taken a stake in this company over the other Aussie players.
CGB with their spending controls, contractual approach, diversified business plans and cash preservation approach seem to be following the clock on the approval of Cannabis legislation in this country to ensure they are there for the long term play. (All my opinion)
I agree that if CANNTAB which has the most preferred delivery system (pills)for treatment can get a favourable result from the CMOS trials then this will potentially be a game changer, for the company. The UN change in schedule, should support Australia's 'Yes' vote.
I do like that they have their main business in Food, in Australia, which is also establishing export markets, importing their Medicinal Cannabis formulations (Canntab) for Australians, have gone for manufacturing infrastructure spend over owning property or building projects and I like the fact that they have multiple contracts across Australia for buying seed protecting them from single state/property ownership crop failures. If the country goes into drought, from my read of reports, they have CGAsia to ensure they have access to seed stock.
These are just a few of my thoughts as to why I have made a substantial investment with this company. The next few years will tell me if my decision was the right one to take.
Wish everyone well.
