coppergaz, please be careful with your posts they are actually wrong, defamatory and against hot copper guidelines t and cs so please request your post is taken down and advise hotcopper you’ve breached their terms there is no establishment fee for Zip at all. Your 25 dollar establishment fee is rubbish. zipco offers a free app that you can download and request an account initially up to $1000 dollars that runs a credit check, unlike Afterpay. The process takes about 5 min. you can then shop anywhere online and anywhere in store that accepts visa anyone that uses Zip you can get interest free period where you pay no account monthly fee and no interest. Example want to buy a set of new tyres for your car. Well there are several tyre companies where you get six months interest free to pay. in this scenario larger purchases are a better deal on zip because I can spread that 1000 purchase over 6 months and pay no fees whatsoever whereas Afterpay I’m forced to pay off in 6 weeks (less than 2 pay cycles for anyone paid monthly) You only pay account fee of 6 a month AFTER the interest free period for that merchant has ended and if at the end of that month there is any balance. at any time I can make a payment to Zip. I’m required to pay a minimum of 40 a month. Initially when I got zip I was approved in 5 min and started shopping on Amazon that have an exclusive arrangement with Zip. Amazon chose not to use Afterpay to offer. Amazon Australia is the largest e-commerce store in Australia I went into BCF and bought a fridge and solar panels for 650 sometime later and that too had 6 months interest free. I initially set up a fortnightly payment of 150 but increased that since now I use tap and zip and zip it only generates revenue from my Bnpl purchases online but now with everyday shopping i hope that clears things up for you, but again your posts on zip are factually wrong so it’s against hot copper terms zip money for purchases around the 3k mark, something neither zip or Afterpay offer with their free product you pay an establishment fee and higher interest. But this is not something Afterpay even compete with and it’s a very different product in addition zip also offers smb loans at a cost but again Afterpay hasn’t diversified into this area either. Klarna has. ive since been offered to increase my zip account to 1500 instead of 1000 and I’ve accepted that offer. So I use this account now that has no establishment fee and no late fees like Afterpay (because customers can always adjust down a payment as required then raise again if needed) zip charges the account fee because there is a cost to money and zip product offers the most flexibility of payment terms of any Bnpl. in the us Quadpay, zips us subsidiary offers pay in 4 just like afterpay but it charges a 1 dollar a month account keeping fee from day 1 of a purchase. please get your facts right at least sometimes
