Yes. This is how it is done currently. We can even store human embryo's in liquid nitrogen so there is no concern with cellular damage.

"Renergen (ASX: RLT) creates vaccine storage solution". The article is posted on The Market Herald, which is an advertorial service owned by Hotcopper, and used to promote paid content. They have paid to put out this press release with the intention of influencing naïve investors, so it deserves comment. I am not going to comment on the economics of their helium reserves. People can do that in the other threads.
oh and looks like Stefano addressed your claims.I don't think he has. He only makes some vague allusions to somehow using the specific heat of liquid helium. Specific heat is irrelevant, because as soon as the helium vaporises, an equal amount of gas molecules are pushed out of the system. These molecules cannot be contained in the system because the system would need to be kept in an extremely strong pressure vessel, due to the extremely high vapour pressure. We cannot easily store liquid nitrogen or helium like this because it would turn into a bomb. All cryogenic dewars operate at atmospheric temperature for this reason.If specific heat was really the solution, why not just use subcooled ice? Its specific heat exceeds that of helium, and it has a low vapour pressure at the relevant temperatures, so it would be far better from this point of view.

I am providing my knowledge on this subject despite having no vested interest in the company.
As far as I can tell, the CEO of Renergen has no science background and has a vested interest in seeing the share price rise.
I am posting here because I am concerned that many naïve investors seem to be drinking the kool-aid with these claims put out by Renergen. I don't believe the claims stand up to scientific scrutiny.
Liquid Nitrogen is 5 x heavier than liquid Helium so comparing litre for litre is not accurateI was not comparing litre for litre. I was comparing kg per kg, although it doesn't matter. Per litre, per mole, per kilo... however you look at it, the latent heat of liquid helium is far lower than the latent heat of liquid nitrogen. Here are my figures:
There is a reason that we don't currently use liquid helium to store vaccines, and this is it.
Anyway, I don't think I'm going to post in here anymore because it seems like most of you have already made up your mind. Good luck with the project. Hopefully the economics stack up, and you haven't been taken in by misleading claims.
