"The key problem is that these project are huge user of capital but small in jobs creation."

It's big money if (I believe when) it goes ahead and as long as that capital spending results in a flow on into the economy, it will all help the current situation. It is lighter on in jobs at production stages than mining, but still involves similar engineering and construction. It's estimated that Gorgon will create approx. 6000 jobs.

"no way will the expansion on Barrow Island be allowed and Chevron will not be able to raise the funds."

That one is still anyone's guess and opinion. Plans for four or five trains are still up in the air, but two trains were approaved earlier. The battle is still to be played out, but with the economy in tatters, I find it hard to believe the Government will let environmentalists and Greens get in the way of such an important international project at such a critical time for the economy. Trade offs may or may not have to be made, but I can't see it being canned again IMO. It has been 30 years already.

I can't see your concern over Chevron, Exxon Mobil and Royal Dutch Shell finding their funds either. Funds for this sort of project will be 'made' available one way or another.

(Perhaps this is the wrong thread for discussing all of this anyhow.)
