The Italians aren't blaming themselves for covid. They've simply indicated that they've picked up a case that they are confident can be dated before any 'official' cases had been recorded in Wuhan. Who knows when the first 'unofficial' or actual case of covid occurred in Wuhan? It would require an investigation to figure that out.
