If you think I am a Tesla negativist fine. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. What does emission standard violations by ICE vehicle producers have to do with my posts about Tesla in a thread that is about "batteries and EVs" on this forum? Do I have to somehow weight my posts to satisfy anyone and don't hurt anyones feelings?!
I am trying to answer all your remarks, although it will take more than one post.
1. Elon Musk on demand
"Tesla CEO Elon Musk dismissed the issue of demand a number of times on that call. “The demand for Model 3 is insanely high. The inhibitor is affordability,” he said. “It’s just, like, people literally don’t have the money to buy the car. It’s got nothing to do with desire. They just don’t have enough money in the bank account. If the car can be made more affordable, they will... the demand is extraordinary.”I remember when I first read the quote it was quoted out of context. I read the following:
"The demand for Model 3 is insanely high. It’s just, like, people literally don’t have the money to buy the car."https://www.theverge.com/2019/2/15/18213953/teslas-moder-3-new-costumers-europe-chinaSo you are right the statement was obvious but not that stupid like I remembered it.
2. Do you want a list of Teslas bad business practices?
Maybe start here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_lawsuits_and_controversies_of_Tesla,_Inc.
One thing that stands out for me is how Tesla advertises and sell their "FSD package"
As of now this court ruling still stands in Germany:
"German court rules that Tesla misled consumers on Autopilot and Full Self Driving"https://www.cnbc.com/2020/07/14/tesla-autopilot-self-driving-false-advertising-germany.htmlWhen Elon Musk was appeared on 60 Mintues he drove with the moderator and took his hands of the wheel and said something along the lines of "the car is driving by itself" You need to watch the episode to know what I am talking about.
Elon Musk stated this regarding 20 million cars per year by 2030.
"That’s total market, not all Tesla. We do see Tesla reaching 20M vehicles/year probably before 2030, but that requires consistently excellent execution.— Elon Musk (@ElonMusk) September 28, 2020"https://cleantechnica.com/2020/10/02/elon-musk-tesla-aiming-for-20-million-vehicles-year-by-2030/https://www.*.com/elon-musk-tesla-likely-20-million-electric-vehicles-year-2030-2020-9?r=DE&IR=T
