I'm interested in potentially purchasing APX. I work in data/analytics so I see the potential in Appen - however, what other subsets of AI are they going to be offering in the future? Training data is usually used for ML purposes, which is what I commonly use training datasets for at work. Is there any evidence of Appen getting into other areas of AI? I understand ML is a huge area but it is only one application of AI. I potentially see this as a large threat longer term as other forms of AI gain traction in the future. Thoughts?
Are there any other risks for Appen in the future? For example, could a Google or Amazon easily get into this space of creating and crowdsourcing training datasets? Is it likely a big tech player could potentially buy a company like Appen?
I've only just started really deep diving into the company before I make my overall decision. Just keen to get some thoughts from current holders.
