Yes and the problem was IL-6 wasn't part of the acceptance criteria into the study. I have just been reviewing some of the literature on aGVHD and IL-6 was one of the best predictors of grade 3 and 4 aGVHD and by inference cytokine storm.

I'm not sure ppl are quite getting the significance that either the cytokine storms were not as common as postulated early in the pandemic (recent Lancet paper suggesting it isn't) or there is only a small window where the cytokine storm is active and is damaging the body and after which, fibrosis has set in and therefore its not part of Rem-L's MOA to fix. SI postulated the latter by stating they were getting the patients too late but I am getting more convinced it is the former.

In either case, they did not screen for the main marker for which Rem-L's MOA is known to work. The study only measures the impact on IL-6 levels as a secondary/exploratory endpoint.

My conclusion: a significant number of patients in the study were not suffering from active cytokine storms .
