No one is arguing about what an option is, but the difference is in exchange traded stock options. As has been pointed out many times here, and by myself; They are treated as an asset, and fall under the same rules as any CGT asset. In other words, holding LRSOC for 12 months will allow you to be eligible for the CGT Discount if you were to make a capital gain and sold.
And as I mentioned before, if you exercised during or after those 12 months, the timer would essentially restart on the new securities that you were issued.
